I beg you to be a burden…
There’s a vastly different perception on the importance and necessity of photos from generation to generation.
More often than not when we are shooting an extended (multi-generation) family session, I will hear some grumbling, or comments on how these photos are not necessary.
And that’s OK, it doesn’t bother me.
I recognize that not every person in front of my lens feels that professional photography is a wise use of their time.
But the individual that convinced them to come along does; probably more so than most.
I know what it feels like to have the overwhelming feeling that you are being a burden by asking somebody to join you for photos.
But of all the people who have hesitantly participated in a session with us, I have never heard one that was annoyed to have the photos when they were done.
Because that’s the thing about photos… they really are a gift to future generations. To your children. To your grandchildren. To your great grandchildren.
While they may seem unnecessary today, they will be priceless tomorrow.
So I encourage you to unapologetically be that “burden” to your family.
