One Piece of Advice I'll NEVER Follow

“You take too many photos!! Put the camera down and live in the moment.”

I’ve definitely heard this from multiple sources many times over the years.

Let me tell you a little something: just because I have a camera in my hand does not mean that I am not soaking up every ounce of emotion soaring through each moment. If anything, I am even more highly attentive to my surroundings.

Life is unpredictable. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. These small moments that I am capturing on camera are becoming treasured memories that will be valued beyond what I could even imagine at the time of that click.

This photo was taken 5 years ago today. I didn’t miss a moment by having my camera in hand: I captured it. I preserved it to forever hold a place in my heart and a memory in my mind.

So no thank you, I won’t be putting down the camera anytime soon. And I encourage all you to unapologetically do the same.
